Tasting notes
This classic Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley is clear in color with some green glints. The nose shows intense gooseberry and citrus flavors. The palate bursts with strong aromas of blackcurrant, herbs and citrus complimenting a refreshing acidity.
Description
“Léon Vatan” is named after one of the ancestors of the winery, a renowned winegrower of Sancerre who contributed to the development of the appellation. Today his family continues his legacy crafting traditional wines from the Loire Valley.
Vinification
100% Sauvignon Blanc from 10-15 year old vines grown in clay soils with flint. To preserve its delicate fermentation flavors, the newly made wine is aged in stainless steel tanks, on its fine lees during 6 months. It is bottled in the spring following the harvest.
