Bodega Sierra Norte Fuentesca
The 67-hectare Finca Fuenteseca estate is situated in Utiel-Requena, a rugged plateau nearly 1,000 meters above sea level just inland from Valencia. This extreme environment, defined by hot, dry summers, cool nights, and nutrient-poor limestone soils, is naturally resistant to vine diseases, making it the ideal setting for organic viticulture.
Today, the entire estate is dedicated to organic production, specializing in distinctive blends that marry indigenous Mediterranean varieties with celebrated international grapes.
Beyond its certified organic and vegan credentials, Bodega Sierra Norte Fuenteseca is deeply committed to its local ecosystem. The winery actively supports regional D.O. projects that benefit the local community and defend the heritage of the land. On the environmental front, Sierra Norte is at the forefront of sustainable innovation, developing a wastewater treatment system for water reuse and implementing a comprehensive photovoltaic solar panel installation to power their operations.
The label serves as a tribute to the Fuenteseca de Camporrobles vineyard. The illustration highlights the estate’s iconic centennial pine tree, a historic landmark that the winery has meticulously conserved in the center of the plot as a symbol of their connection to the land.
With an 18-year history, Fuenteseca is one of Sierra Norte’s most established brands, now exported to 18 countries including Germany, Japan, and the United States. The recent 2021 vintage marks a visual renewal for the brand, introducing young wines that share a common DNA: an intense, fine aromatic profile where the fruit takes center stage, a refreshing palate, and an exquisite uniqueness.
