Cellier des Dauphins
The sun-drenched vines of Cellier des Dauphins flourish in the Rhône Valley, silhouetted by the foothills of the southern Alps rising in the distance. Here, the estate nurtures the renowned grape varieties that have made the Côtes du Rhône famous: Syrah, Grenache, Viognier, and a rich tapestry of other regional grapes.
It is precisely this varietal diversity that empowers the winemakers at Cellier des Dauphins to craft aromatic, blended wines of immense complexity, epitomizing the absolute best of the southern Rhône.
Founded in 1967 by the UVCDR, Cellier des Dauphins has grown into the pride of its local winegrowers, rising to a position of undisputed regional pre-eminence. Over the decades, its reputation has expanded hand-in-hand with a spirit of constant innovation. At the heart of their philosophy lies a deep reverence for the land, backed by concrete actions to preserve biodiversity. This includes converting 3,000 hectares to High Environmental Value (HVE) certification, with 1,350 of those hectares simultaneously dedicated to organic agriculture.
As fierce champions of eco-design, Cellier des Dauphins pushes its packaging suppliers to continuously pioneer sustainable solutions. These efforts include significantly reducing glass bottle weight, utilizing FSC-certified paper, printing labels with vegetable-based inks, and completely eliminating plastic carrying handles from their bag-in-box ranges. This latter change alone has eliminated 7 tons of plastic per year. Proving their leadership in sustainability, Cellier des Dauphins won the inaugural Eco-Design competition organized by Adelphe, the French agency for recycling promotion, in February 2020, and secured the prestigious award again in 2023 for its 3L Bag-in-Box.
