Condado de Haza
THE CHÂTEAU OF THE RIBERA DEL DUERO
Nestled in a vast Tempranillo vineyard in Roa, Burgos, sits Condado de Haza, a Castilian château that pays tribute to the terroir. Built directly into the hillside, the estate features a cellar nearly 30 meters underground, providing the perfect natural conditions for aging.
While the first vines were planted in 1988, the estate has operated as a "360º estate" since 1993, managing the wine's entire life cycle on-site to produce exceptional selections from its heterogeneous soils.
Condado de Haza is committed to 100% organic production. This dedication to craftsmanship earned them a spot on Wine Spectator’s "Top 100 Wines in the World" in 2008 and solidified their status as a regional staple.
This excellence is backed by the legacy of Familia Fernández Rivera, which recently celebrated 50 years as a pioneer of the Ribera del Duero region. What began as the dream of Alejandro Fernández and Esperanza Rivera has grown into an international benchmark, spanning 70 countries with four distinct wineries: Tinto Pesquera, Condado de Haza, Dehesa La Granja, and El Vínculo.
Today, the family business is led by three generations of women. By blending artisanal techniques with modern innovation, they continue to champion the same passion for the land that defined the brand five decades ago.
