Replica - Pinot Noir - Misbehaved 2015
- Country USA
- Region California
- UPC 8 50892 00372 2
Tasting notes
Dark red with some purple tones, this Pinot displays rich plummy, black fruit aromas and flavors which are elegantly framed by slightly smoky, caramel
scented oak. This is a full bodied and full flavored wine that bespeaks of a very ripe and a richly extracted style of Pinot Noir not often found among
California Pinots.
Artisan winemaking
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. That's why we created a proprietary methodology to analyze taste and aroma profiles of thousands of wines. While impossible to produce an identical copy, we use our data and skilled winemaker to create a masterful Replica.
Winemaking notes
2015 was a spectacular year for Pinot Noir, which yielded nicely colored, densely concentrated fruit. This Pinot Noir was blended from several
notable cool climate Pinot regions such as San Benito County on the Central Coast as well as Mendocino County in the North Coast region of California.
Warm skin contact fermentations were employed to achieve full extraction of color and tannins with subsequent malolactic fermentation to soften the
tannins and add mouthfeel and complexity. Aging with toasted French oak has added a backdrop of caramel, vanilla and brown spice to this dark,
extracted Pinot.
