Morada Vineyard - Old Vine Zinfandel 2011
Tasting notes
Aromas of ripe plums with overtones of raspberry and rich blueberry on the nose. The palate is mouth filling with gutsy opulent blackberries and layered jammy dark berry fruit with hints of vanilla notes and soft earth tones on the finish.
Vineyard
Morada Vineyards are located in the Southern part of the well recognized Lodi Appellation, renowned for its premier quality wine grapes. The wines of Morada vineyards are selected from vineyards with an average age of more 40 years to ensure us ripe, rich and concentrated fruit, while still giving attention to a balanced level of acidity.
Vinification process
The grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks. 50% of the grapes were aged in oak both French and American. The rest was aged in stainless steel tank to keep fresh and crisp fruit.
