Tasting notes
Intense aromatics and ‘very varietally correct’. True to the Sauvignon Blanc grape with fresh grass and citrus notes in the nose. The creamy flavors are layered with tropical fruit notes along with a touch of spice and honey. Refreshing with bright acidity and a touch of minerality. Please enjoy upon release or within a year or two as no aging is required.

Vineyard
Dry Creek Valley has a pedigree for developing great fruit characteristics as well as bright acidity in the Sauvignon Blanc grape. We sourced
two vineyards for this vintage: our estate vineyards as well as one of our neighboring growers. Each vineyard’s microclimate combines sun,
soil and fog to retain ripe fruit and crisp flavor. Add these components to the special care and attention from the vineyard crew and the
resulting wine is a wonderful reflection of terroir wherein the sum is greater than the parts.
Vinification
The growing season experienced great conditions with mild summer heat and an uneventful harvest. Although framed by drought this lowered yields which led to deep flavors. For the record Sauvignon Blanc is the first grape we pick. The estate vineyard was harvested the last week of August. The wine shows high concentration of aromatics and varietal flavors with a nice balance between fruit and acidity showcasing the luscious Dry Creek Valley fruit.
Once the grapes are destemmed and pressed the juice goes to stainless steel fermenting tanks to cold soak for 24/48 hours. Inoculated with selected yeast and slow fermentation at about 58F in stainless steel tanks completes the process. Keeping the temperature controlled during fermentation maintains the flavors. The wine is bottled a few months after harvest without oak aging or malo-lactic fermentation bringing the freshness of the vintage to the glass.
