Food matches
A potent Ribera del Duero wine that pairs well with all kinds of meats; roast meat, game, stews. Also interesting when coupled with dishes of contemporary cuisine.
Tasting notes
Of a vivid cherry colour, very bright and of high intensity. On the nose it is highly complex, with outstanding red fruit and blackcurrant compote, minerality and reminiscences of Chinese ink and some spices. Pleasant ripe fruit in the mouth, velvety and balsamic with interesting round matured long-standing tannins. A very lively wine.
Description
To make PradoRey Reserva the grapes are selected from old vines from the site called Pago La Mina with soils poor in organic material and with high limestone content, which results in a bodied mineral wine and enhances the personality of the varietal Tempranillo (95%). The nuance given by Cabernet Sauvignon (3%) and Merlot (2%) is another trait that makes this wine, only made in exceptional vintages, a unique one and singles it out from all other classical Ribera de Duero wines.

Winemaking
The selected grapes are fermented in stainless steel vats at a temperature of 28°C with a maceration period of 24 days. Then the wine ages for 18 months in French oak barrels. Later it rests in cone-shaped French Nevers oak vats of 20.000 Lts. for 6 months, afterwards aging in bottles for 20 months until it reaches its optimal quality.
