Tasting notes
Piper-Heidsieck carefully selects fruit from more than 100 of Champagne's crus to blend the Cuvee 1785. This adds great complexity and dimension to the wine and allowed the bold Piper-Heidsieck style to shine through. A majority blend of Pinot Noir provides structure to the composition while Pinot Meunier expands the wine with its brilliant fruit expression and fleshiness and Chardonnay bring elegant tones and acidity. The precious reserve wines create a consistent flavor profile year after year. A juicy, fleshy pear and golden grape texture. The finish narrows to citrus and grapefruit flavors.
Description
This cuvée was tailor made exclusively for the United States, from over one hundred crus. Elegant, balanced and extremely versatile, it reflects the diversity of terroir within the region.
Estate
The most awarded Champagne house of the Century! Steeped in history, innovation and excellence have been at the heart of Piper-Heidsieck since 1785 when Florens-Louis Heidsieck founded his Champagne House with the dream to create a ‘cuveé worthy of a queen’. That dream was realized when he boldly presented his first cuvee to Queen Marie Antoinette and she declared love at first sip. She quickly became the champagne’s first brand ambassador and when Henri-Guillaume Piper joined the Reims venture in 1815, he and Florens-Louis’ nephew Christian Heidsieck set out to promote the Champagne House’s reputation well beyond the borders of France. Today, Piper-Heidsieck is poured in over 100 countries and is the most awarded Champagne House of the century, with over 275 medals.
