Estate
Owned by Stephan von Neipperg, Chateau d'Aiguilhe is located on hills overlooking the Right Bank of the Dordogne River, on the border between the Cotes de Castillon and Saint Emilion appellations.
This 110 hectare estate has 50 hectares of vines, which are planted exclusively on the upper part of the hills. The vineyard has excellent natural drainage and southfacing sun exposure.
The thin layer of claylimestone and claysilt topsoil covers a layer of rather meagre soil on a limestone substratum. This terroir provides wonderful hydric regulation all year round and, combined with vines an average of 28 years old, produces outstanding grapes.
