Tasting notes
While Bordeaux is better-known for its reds, its whites are world class too! This classic example shows a brilliant clear pale yellow, the nose has good intensity with citrus (grapefruit, tangerine) and white peach flesh. The palate is supple with nice aromatics and a balanced acidity with ripe apples, peach and a citrus lining of minerals. It has a nice clean finish and will pair well with a wide variety of dishes.
Estate
Chateau de Castelneau is a small family owned winery in the Entre-Deux-Mers region of Bordeaux, which refers to the region “between the two rivers” which was cleared by the Knights Templar and Benedictine monks for the production of wine. The estate vineyards have been in the family for the last 200 years. Made with traditional vinification methods, their wines represent a classic expression of this historic region. The “Superieur” classification is a further mark of quality above entry level Bordeaux’s.
