Dillon Tres Vieux VSOP Rhum NV
Tasting notes
An elegant and subtle aged rum! A light mahogany color with complex and an aromatic richness revealing long ageing in small oak casks. It shows fruit overtones (plums) roasted dried fruit (hazelnuts, candied fruit) combined with cocoa, chocolate and delicate vanilla and wood.
Estate
Dillon is a producer of Rhum Agricole from the island of Martinique and can trace its history all the way back to 1690 to the original site of the distillery in Fort de France. It was set up by Arthur Dillon, a US soldier. Originally it produced sugar but in the 19th, century began producing rum. In 1928 a new distillery became operational. In 1967 Bordeaux Bardinet took over the production. Dillon Rhum’s are now distilled on Martinique and then shipped to France where they are aged and bottled.
