Vintage notes
The 2013 growing season was the warmest vintage we have seen since 2003 in Washington State. A very hot summer lead us to start picking in late August, a lot earlier than usual. We picked the varietals for this beautiful red blend between September 9 and October 18, 2013 as the weather cooled and allowed us to take our time picking.
Winemaker notes
This year's Rivers Red is a great fruity everyday wine to pair with your favorite foods and share with friends. The dominance of Sangiovese creates structure and complexity, while the Malbec, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon provide balance to the wine and add savory notes to this blend. This medium bodied wine is filled with aromas and flavors of strawberry, cherry, raspberry, and finishes with a touch of cedar.
