James Suckling 91pt

Fruity and medium-bodied this red has aromas of plums, cherries and frozen raspberries. Subtle and polished with a well-rounded texture and character on the palate and a similar finish. Drink or hold.

Tasting Panel 94pt

A very strong Cabernet from an exceptional vintage, this offers expressive aromas and very deep flavors. Impressively balanced, it has already absorbed most of the 50% new French oak in which it was aged, with only subtle spice and toast notes showing alongside the core of dark berry fruit. Subtle accents of autumn leaves and graphite lend additional complexity.

Wine Advocate 90pt

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville, like most of the offerings from Grand Napa Vineyards, is a bit light in color. Scents of celery seed, ripe cherries, loamy earth and vanilla yield a favorable impression on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is supple and soft, giving the impression of a wine that's ready to drink now, with softly dusty tannins and a touch of mocha on the finish.

Harvest

Fruit sustainably farmed vineyards in Oakville off of Money Road.

Ageing

22 months in 50% new French Oak, 50% in 2 year-old Oak.

Tasting Notes

Our exciting 2021 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon showcases a deep red hue and an aromatic blend of intense blueberry, subtle graphite, and a hint of vanilla on the nose. The palate is a smooth, full-bodied, and elegant experience with balanced acidity, while structured tannins create a bold yet refined character. The finish is enduring, focused, and graced by a return of fresh strawberry notes, leaving a powerful and memorable impression.
