A salty undertone to the blackberry and terra-cotta character. Dark fruit. Medium to full body, layered tannins and an intense finish. Excellent density. Special this year. 63% merlot, 29% cabernet sauvignon, 5% cabernet franc, 2% carmenere and 1% petit verdot.

The 2023 Pastourelle de Clerc Milon is a powerful wine. Cabernet Sauvignon drives the feel this year, and that makes the 2023 a decidedly serious- almost somber- Pastourelle. It has plenty of depth but less of the fruit-forward raciness of most years. Black cherry, gravel, menthol, licorice and dried herbs linger on the Cabernet Sauvignon-infused finish.
