Tasting notes
Our 2014 Chardonnay is dynamic with great length, mouthfeel, and nuance. Notes of roasted coffee bean, candied lemon, honeysuckle and hints of confection stimulate the senses. On the palate this wine is sweet and sophisticated with an initial impression of lemon honey and a bold acidity. Notes of sweet brioche, toasted meringue and hazelnut are showcased on the palate, nishing with subtle hints of so minerality and sweetness.
Vintage
2014 was the third consecutive abundant vintage in the Sta. Rita
Hills. An early bud break and warm growing season led to the earliest
harvest to date. Grape clusters had larger than average berry size that
achieved optimal ripeness within a shortened time translating into
rich flavors. We hand harvested the grapes between August 19th and
October 10th, 2014.

Winemaking
Our Chardonnay was hand harvested in the cool morning hours to
preserve flavor and aromatics. e 2014 features our favorite clones:
the Wente, Clone 4 and Mt. Eden. Th e juice was barrel fermented and
aged for 18 months in 80% new French oak barrels. To add richness
and complexity to the wine, we stirred the lees every two weeks. It was
then bottled in April of 2016.

The two Sisters
The Two Sisters wines are named are Bill and Carol Foley's daughters Lindsay & Courtney. The wines come om the best blocks of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir om Lindsay's and Courtney's vineyards in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA. These limited-production bottlings feature heritage, heirloom and select clones chosen speci cally for their inherent attributes and compatibility with the terroir of each vineyard block.
