Product Ratings
Jeb Dunnuck 91+pt

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville comes mostly from estate fruit and is 100% Cabernet. It has a big, rich, slightly extracted vibe as well some serious black fruits, graphite, scorched earth, and chalky mineral-like aromas and flavors. With grippy, building tannins yet solid mid-palate density and good balance, it's going to benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and drink nicely for a decade.

James Suckling 95pt

This velvety textured yet firmly tannic wine shows good, concentrated black fruit, graphite and dark chocolate in a style that should age well and improve for a decade or two. Fermented by native yeast after a cold soak, the wine spends several weeks on the skins to extract flavor and tannins, then is aged in French barrels.

Vinous Media 93pt

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville is a potent, dense wine. Black cherry, spice, leather, tobacco and licorice fill out the layers in a Cabernet endowed with notable depth and plenty of Oakville resonance. Bright acids are a terrific match for all of its opulence.

Aging

22 months in 100% French Oak; 75% New.

Tasting Notes

Scents of black currant, cedar chips, mandarin, mint, and lit tobacco sparks fly out of the glass. A strong entry of plum and cocoa encrusted roast are followed by firm and eventful tannins. This is a big wine and would do well with some time to unwind, but it is queued up to be a showstopper. The finish is massive and absolute with dark chocolate covered cherries, stewed plums, and Cuban cigars.
