Description
The Family Reserve status is granted only to vineyards of distinction. The fruit stands out the moment it arrives at the winery. Together winemaker and winegrower strive to further develop what only nature can provide.
The grapes for the vintage were chosen from the Whaler Vineyard and the Largo Ridge Vineyard. These vineyards are both located in the hillsides off the eastern bank of the Russian River between Hopland and Ukiah. Produced from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and aged 24 months in French oak barrels. Very limited in production with only 450 cases produced.
Tasting notes
The wine has a beautiful black cherry character with distinct aromas and flavors of cassis, cocoa, elegant cigar box & beautiful dark fruits. This full-bodied and balanced wine has a richly woven texture and a lingering finish that displays evolving dark berry, vanilla and baking spice flavors. Pair with your favorite grilled steak, pan seared duck breast or a delicious Portobello Burger.
History
As one of the pioneers of California’s Wine Industry, the Parducci family has been devoted to handcrafting premium Mendocino County wines for over 70 years. They source only the finest grapes from dedicated growers and strive to enhance what nature has provided and produce wines of distinction. Winemaker Rich Parducci leads a small dedicated group of wine lovers. Their dedication to excellence builds on his family’s four generations of experience and expertise.
Rich Parducci is a fourth-generation winemaker. His great grandfather Adolph Parducci founded Parducci Winery in 1932. He entered the industry at age 12 and has worked in almost every facet of the industry, from bottling, vineyard, laboratory to cellar. A 1992 graduate of California State University Fresno in Enology, Rich brings a cutting edge approach which compliments his heritage and the previous generation’s traditional winemaking style. An award-winning winemaker, he makes wines in his own unique style and finds a way to honor his grandfather’s history at the same time.
