This series of single-vineyard wines made by Francesco Ricasoli represent some of the most exiting wines in the Gaiole subregion. The Barone Ricasoli 2022 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Gaiole Roncicone is savory and profound with blackcurrant, campfire ember and crushed stone. Mineral notes emerge with elegance across this mid-weight Sangiovese from soils rich in marine fossils. The wine closes with a long finish fueled by cherry-driven sweetness.

The nose is primarily savory, with aromas of hot tar, crushed rocks, petrol and black pepper, but then ripe blackberry and black plum emerge.
