Ceretto - Dolcetto d'Alba - Rossana - 2022
Estate
Ceretto is a family estate based in Alba, in the heart of the Langhe, founded in the 1930s by Riccardo Ceretto. In the 1960s and 1970s his sons Bruno and Marcello acquired some of the finest crus of the area, including Bricco Rocche, Brunate and Prapo in Barolo and Asili and Bernadot in Barbaresco. Now led by the third generation of the family, Ceretto farms its vineyards organically and crafts wines that express the character of each site.
Description
Rossana is an 8-hectare vineyard in Alba, historically recognized as one of the best areas for Dolcetto. This grape makes the quintessential everyday wines of Piedmont, the ones that go best with the region's rustic cuisine. To do it justice, Ceretto follows a classic approach that highlights its primary fruit: only stainless steel is used, keeping the bouquet pure and pleasantly vinous, and a deliberately brief maceration tames Dolcetto's naturally vigorous tannins.
