Tasting notes

A classic Rosé. Floral, clean, fresh berries first then followed by fresh herbs and flowers. Like walking through a lavender field on an early summer morning. The harmony of bright acidity, rich texture and dry finish show the completeness of this wine. Creamy strawberry notes up front and lingering flavors of fresh basil, thyme, lavender.

Appellation

Destination – south of France! The Cap d’Agde region is on France’s Mediterranean coast in the Cotes de Thau. This appellation is increasingly celebrated for its Rosé wines. The sea breezes here particularly benefit to the production of white wines, encouraging the retention of acidity in the grapes. The landscape is dominated by the former volcano of Agde (an outlier of the volcanos of the Massif Central) and Mont St-Clair near Sète. The mixed terrain of garrigue, sand, sea and lagoons is home to a wide array of plant and animal life. Generally speaking, the climate in the area is Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and most rain falling in spring and autumn. In summer, gentle sea breezes help to moderate the warm temperatures, and also bring a drying influence to the vineyards after rain. This reduces disease pressure in the vineyards. This fresh Rosé is an excellent example of the region with its delicate notes of red fruits. Great bottle presentation too!

Vineyard

Between the Mediterranean sea and the hills of Thau. The soils are red, light texture, sand-muddy and sandclay, little rocky and relatively deep. Ideal for grape production.
