Pascal Delbeck joined her in the 1980s and worked alongside her on the management of the various estates over the years, becoming manager of all Dubois-Challon vineyards in 1997. He personally took over Chateau Tour du Pas Saint-Georges in 2008, investing in its expansion and renovation. Pascal Delbeck is a long-standing friend of Hubert de Bouard, and Matthieu de Bouard married into the family to become his son-in-law, so it was only natural that La Fleur de Bouard should take over the estate in 2020.
Its 14 hectares of vines in one block on the hillside, facing south/south-east, are planted on a magnificent clay-limestone terroir, with molasse on a bed of clay and Périgord sand. The grapes are picked at physiological ripeness and then fermented in small stainless steel tanks of only 40 hl followed by 16 months' ageing in French oak barrels and in tank.
The particularity of the vineyard is that it was looked after by Pascal Delbeck, an agronomist and lover of the vine, who extended the mix of grape varieties by adding a little Carmenere, Petit Verdot and Malbec. The vineyard is treated like a garden, protected by its enclosure wall and hedges, an intimate place that has provided an ideal home for the cultivation of grapes for several centuries.
