Wine Enthusiast 91pt

As befits a Pomerol, the wine is mainly Merlot. Aged in wood, it has a smooth character, polished with herbal hints. The wine is aging well, but needs time.

Tasting notes

A beautiful purple color announces the richness of the bouquet. This Pomerol asserts itself by its personality with a nose with aromas of violets, black fruits and vanilla. A beautiful aromatic complexity that is still young, but which develops with strength and power, supported by a present but elegant woodiness. Its volume and chewiness leave an impression of velvet and sap.

Vinification

Manual harvest; vinification in cement vats with aging in oak barrels for 14 months. Total production is around 10,000 btls.

Estate

The Niarfeix family owns several chateaux located in the Pomerol, Lalande de Pomerol and Montagne Saint-Emilion appellations. Chateau Chene Liege is located on the way to Santiago de Compostela and opposite the church of Pomerol, alongside other prestigious vineyards such as Petrus, La Fleur Petrus and La Conseillante.
