Delicate and elegant wine, with smoky fruit, ripe but freshened with a tight layer of acidity. It has delicious black currant juice flavors, but the texture remains light and the tannins soft.

The 2006 Pavillon Rouge de Chateau Margaux is now fully mature on the nose with ferrous aromas, red fruit, peppercorn and light cedar scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly savoury entry and a keen line of acidity, again slightly ferrous. The gentle tannins have softened over 20 years, with less of the medicinal/eucalyptus traits found elsewhere. There is just a little rusticity towards the finish that I can certainly abide. Drinking perfectly now.
