Tasting notes
"This wine, with its rich young fruit, is finely balanced. Spice from wood aging lends its polish to the wine's weight. Backed by acidity, the wine will age well. Drink from 2027." - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast
Intense colour, ruby reflections, shiny.Black fruit, blackberry, blackcurrant, blueberry with toasted notes on the nose. Authenticity of the terroir through the tannic structure and fruitiness of the wine. The nature of the sandy-gravelly soil acts as a flavor enhancer and is found in the minerality of this wine.
Estate
Chateau German was the scene of important events during the French Revolution in 1789. It sheltered deputies who found refuge in the castle. The vines were planted in the 18th century on the Castillonais terrace, adjacent to the Saint-Emilion terroir and produce a red wine typical of the Castillon CĂ´tes de Bordeaux appellation.
