The La Baume Chardonnay Brut Sparkling opens with an expressive nose with notes of yellow fruits, peach, nectarine and floral aromatics. The palate is bright, crisp and refreshing with round notes of candied citrus fruits and ripe apple. Nice length and balance with a bit of minerality on the finish. Description
La Baume Brut Sparkling wines from France were created in a collaboration between famed winemaker Florence Delabre and the Domaine de la Baume team. This project originated from the desire to craft elegant yet approachable sparkling wines from the South of France. The grapes are harvested at night at the coldest temperature. Subsequently, vinification takes place in stainless steel followed by a secondary tank fermentation utilizing the Charmat method. The La Baume sparkling wines are then bottled in slim and sleek Juliette shaped clear bottles that are visually striking. These wines owe their fresh, fruity character to the care and patience of these experienced teams.
Winemaker Florence Delabre grew up in the city of Lyon, France, but has always been surrounded by agriculture. Florence studied agronomy and oenology in Montpellier, located in the Languedoc region of the south of France. Her discovery and passion for the wine world began here, and Languedoc became her home. Florence has been working for 10 years as a winemaker throughout the Mediterranean region crafting top quality, elegant wines.
