Estate
Bodega Flechas de los Andes was created thanks to a partnership between Baron Benjamin de Rothschild and Laurent Dassault, who sought to make wine on a great terroir
at the foot of the Andes. The name "Flechas de los Andes" refers to the 5 arrows symbolizing the Rothschild family. Planted in 1999, the vineyard benefits from a dry
climate tempered by the tall Andes Mountains (1,100m). Malbec is the main grape variety on this unique terroir. The partnership between two families, as well as
their shared aim of producing an excellent Argentinian wine, led to the creation of Gran Corte.
Terroir
Appellation from Vista Flores: a soil from alluvial origin, composed by clay, sand and with a high percentage of stones in the subsoil.
Harvest
The 2022 season in Vista Flores began with a relatively dry winter, leading to lower soil water reserves at the start of the cycle. Spring conditions were generally
mild, allowing for steady budbreak and flowering, although careful vineyard management was required to balance vine vigor and fruit set.
Summer was marked by warm and dry conditions, with several periods of elevated temperatures. The altitude of Vista Flores and its significant day–night temperature
shifts played a crucial role in preserving freshness and slowing sugar accumulation, enabling a balanced and progressive ripening process.
Harvest, carried out between late March and early April depending on altitude and variety, delivered healthy grapes with good concentration and well-developed
phenolic maturity. Despite a warmer growing season, the 2022 vintage in Vista Flores reveals structured, expressive wines, combining ripe fruit intensity with
vibrant acidity and the refined tension characteristic of this Andean terroir.
Vinification
Manual selection before and after destemming, then the grapes fill stainless steel tanks by the action of gravity. Traditional vinification with daily
pumping over in stainless tanks. Maceration during 25 days (Fermentation: 15/20 days at 24-28C). Spontaneous Malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
1/3 in new French foudre, 1/3 in second fill barrels, 1/3 in tanks.
Tasting Notes
To the eye, the wine reveals a deep, intense color with vibrant violet hues, characteristic of the variety and indicative of its concentration.
The nose, expressive and inviting, opens with generous aromas of ripe plum and cherry, gracefully enhanced by the floral elegance of violet — a true signature of
Uco Valley Malbec.
On the palate, the attack is smooth and enveloping, unfolding into a beautifully structured mid-palate supported by fine, polished tannins. A refined minerality
and vibrant freshness bring energy and precision, while a subtle touch of oak adds depth without overshadowing the fruit. The ensemble is harmonious and poised,
leading to a long, elegant finish that reflects both finesse and excellence
