Miolo

“Our history began in 1989, and today we are very proud of what we have done so far. Miolo has been recognized and awarded internationally, and our products are shipped to more than 30 countries. This serves as a daily motivation to be always committed to delivering high-quality wines and sparkling wines worldwide.” – Adriano Miolo

The roots of Miolo trace back to the late 1800s, when Italian immigrant Giuseppe Miolo settled in Brazil’s historic Vale dos Vinhedos.

From his initial land purchase, Giuseppe dedicated himself to planting and cultivating fine vines. For nearly a century, the family earned a stellar reputation supplying premium grapes throughout the region.

Facing an economic crisis in the late 1980s, the family took a bold step forward. In 1988, they launched the "Quality Project" to transition from grape growers to winemakers, aiming to showcase Brazilian wine to the world. They officially established their own label in 1989, releasing their first commercial bottling in 1992, an 8,000-bottle run of a 1990 Merlot.

Today, Miolo is one of the largest and most respected winemaking groups in Brazil. As a founding member of the Wines of Brazil project, it stands as the nation's leading wine exporter. Every bottle reflects meticulous care: grapes are harvested mechanically at night to preserve their fresh, natural characteristics before arriving at the winery.

Inside the aging cellars (cave das barricas), the wine undergoes a carefully orchestrated journey, moving from massive grápia wood barrels to stainless steel tanks, concrete eggs, and finally into roughly 1,500 French oak barrels. Crafted under the prestigious Vale dos Vinhedos Designation of Origin, Miolo’s wines represent the highest standard of regional authenticity and quality. Through ongoing investments in land, technology, and people, Miolo continues to build on Giuseppe’s legacy.
