Winemaker's notes
Our 2014 Carneros Chardonnay has a beautiful golden color. This medium bodied wine is swarming with aromas of pears, coconut, vanilla and honey. The broad and expansive palate complements the aromas with sweet and rich notes. A bold wine with flavors of golden delicious apple, buttered
toast, vanilla and honey this truly is a delicious wine that can be paired with just about anything!
Vintage
2014 was a fabulous vintage, giving us wines of both finesse and concentration. We brought in a bountiful crop of very tasty fruit Overall the weather was nearly ideal, with conditions allowing the grapes to have a lot of acidity without being over ripe. The Chardormay reached full maturity - just around 6.2. tons per acre- and was hand harvested on September 10, 2014 under clear night skies.
Winemaking
Produced by guest winemaker Steve Nelson. this wine features fruitfrom three special vineyard sites in the Carneros AVA; Wobken, Batto, and Patrick's Vineyards. The juice was fermented with native and inoculated yeast and aged in French oak barrels (30% new) for 10 months. Full malolactic fermentation and regular lees stirring brought additional richness to the palate.
