Some white pepper to the mixture of red and black berries. Flavorful and juicy with fresh, creamy tannins. Shows excellent balance even though it is not quite long. From organically grown grapes. Drink now.

Description

Consentido, Monastrell Barrica is from the Yecla region of Spain. Produced from 25 year old vines, this tiny coastal region makes excellent wines from the perfect blend of cool coastal and warm continental temperatures. This classic Monasrell is a rich, dark, fruit-driven red that is very food friendly.

Tasting notes

This velvety Monastrell has a deep ruby color and with a lush body with aromas and flavors of ripe black fruit, clove and tobacco spices and a soft, spicy finish. Very food friendly!

Vinification

This wine is made from a rigorous selection from vineyards over 25 years of age, harvested during the first week of October. After vatting, the grapes were left for three days at a low temperature, enabling all the aromas of the Monastrell variety to be drawn out. Fermentation was conducted at a temperature of 77ºF. After de-vatting, the wine was transferred to new barrels where it aged for three months to acquire the smooth, elegant taste of oak.
