Ideal on its own. Best when partnered with grilled red meats, spicy dishes and aged cheese.
Tasting notes
Bright cherry with dark ruby hues. Aromas of forest fruits (plum, redcurrant) combined with sweet spices (clove, fennel) and mineral hints -a result of the combination of frank-clay, sand and alluvial soils in our "Vina Lanciano" vineyard-. Structured and fleshy, this modern Rioja's vibrancy comes as a result of the fruit shining again on the palate. Long and persistent finish.
Harvest
80% TEMPRANILLO, 15% GRACIANO and 5% MAZUELO. Hand harvested from 35 year-old bush vines in our "Pago el Rincon" plot. Grape bunches were manually harvested and selected upon their arrival to the winery. After destemming, they fermented in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 28C. Post fermentative maceration for a period of four weeks ensured maximum tannin and color extraction. Malolactic fermentation in new 225 l. French oak barriques. The 2010 vintage, rated excellent, is limited to 39.200 bottles.
Ageing
Aged for 7 months in new French oak and a further 4 months in new Russian oak barrels. Bottled unfiltered to maintain all the subtle aromas and flavors, albeit producing natural sedimentation that may be found inside the bottle.
