Reviews
Wine Spectator 95
There's a pleasing vibrancy to this rich and powerful red, with a core of ripe, bright red currant, raspberry and pomegranate seed flavors interwoven with accents of eucalyptus, dried thyme and sage, fig cake and mocha. The firm tannins are dense but well-meshed and lightly chalky on the savory finish of tobacco and loamy earth notes.

Estate
Bodegas Emilio Moro is one of the oldest leading quality producers in Ribera del Duero. For four generations the Emilio Moro family has carefully farmed their 500 acres of estate vineyards located between 2,400 to 3,000 feet of elevation. The estates legendary Finca Resalso vineyard was planted the year Emilio Moro was born in 1932. The vineyards deep, cool soil is home to some of the winery’s oldest Tempranillo (Tinto Fino) bush vines and is the birthplace of their great single-estate wine Malleolus de Valderramiro. With excellent ripening conditions, these special plots provide tannic wines with a marked acidity and are ideal for ageing.
Tasting notes
Deep cherry red in color with a garnet rim. In the nose, the richness of nuances that develops during the tasting is outstanding. The intense aromas of the Tempranillo bouquet are perfectly blended with its ageing in the finest wood. The spicy notes from the ageing are subtly interwoven, enriching the whole. The palate is a true reflection of the bouquet, adding elegance and complexity. The aftertaste is long and persistent.
