The 2007 Croft Vintage has a soft, fig and date-scented bouquet that opens up beautifully in the glass, warm and inviting. The palate is medium-bodied with soft, supple tannin, a fine line of acidity and a ripe finish with dark cherries, boysenberry jam and a citric edge lending poise and delineation. There is a nice hint of fieriness on the finish that gives it a little hubris and brio, though not excessively, since that would not be in keeping with Croft's style.

Primary, fresh fruit flavors of pomegranate and cherries fill the front of this wine, then fall into a powerful black hole of tannin and alcohol. The fruit is soft and juicy, the tannin hard and gripping. This needs time to meld and will likely show best around 15 to 20 years from the vintage.

Shows aromas of very ripe fruit and sweet tobacco, with hints of earth and spices. Full-bodied and medium sweet, with round, velvety tannins and a long, fruity finish. Likeable for its soft texture.
