Crunchy strawberries and orange blossoms with lifted, aromatic floral notes of potpourri, violets and rose hips. Elegant yet vibrant and juicy. Medium-bodied with chewy yet fine-textured tannins and a pleasant backbone of acidity. Beautiful length with subtle balsamic notes at the end.

The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino is distinctly savory, blending dusty earth and crushed ashen stones with dried black cherries and violet pastille. This is soothing and round with an herbal thrust up front that gives way to crisp wild berry fruits and a caking of minerality toward the close. Candied orange hints linger along with sweet tannins as a bump of residual acidity maintains a lovely freshness through the gently tannic finale. The 2019 is a beautiful Brunello from Terre Nere that needs some time to develop aromatically and flesh out.

The warm, umami nose features aromas of damp earth, balsamic, warm crushed stones and tart cherries. The cherries ripen on the palate and are joined by raspberries and more earth, before a warm embrace of a finish, locked into place by structured, formidable tannins.
