This has aromas of lime peel, crushed stones, grapefruit pith, green papayas, nettles and elderflowers. Fantastic texture and focus, with just the right amount of citrus crunch, combined with stony minerality.

The St. Michael-Eppan 2021 Alto Adige Sauvignon Sanct Valentin feels like an ice cube on the palate that refreshes and revives. This is a sharply tonic and lean wine with great tension and energy. The bouquet opens to passion fruit, lychee, green papaya and underripe pineapple. The alcohol content is recorded at 14%, which seems a little high for an Alto Adige wine, but the heat is well absorbed by the wine's lean texture. Zesty exotic fruit appears on the finish. Sanct Valentin sees mostly stainless steel with 25% aged in tonneaux.

Silver Medal 2023 Decanter World Wine Awards
A perfume of elderflower and green fruit with a mouthwatering acidity and crisp mineral character; long, fresh and limey.

Masses of pungent citrus and florals create an intensely spicy bouquet as the 2021 Sauvignon Sanct Valentin unfolds in the glass. This is rich, nearly creamy in feel, balanced by a stimulating core of citrus-tinged acidity as ripe nectarine is offset by sour melon. Tropical florals are left to linger through the long finish, as the 2021 plays a sweet and sour act on the senses while keeping the mouth watering for more. This zesty Sauvignon packs a punch yet finishes wonderfully balanced.
