Technical Details

Description

Dolce&Gabbana, fascinated by this unmistakable color, strongly desired the production of a rose, and the name Rosa was chosen to emphasize its unique personality. And just as Donnafugata has created a new blend of two Sicilian grape varieties, so Dolce&Gabbana's creativity has taken up the challenge of telling the story of this prestigious wine, overseeing its coordinated image: the immediately recognizable graphics of the materials draw inspiration from the iconic Sicilian cart, which represents the island's craftsmanship, culture and tradition the world over.

Food pairing

Perfect as a pre-dinner drink or paired with raw fish, vegetarian dishes, and delicate meats. Serve at 10-12C.

Harvest

The Nerello Mascalese grapes were harvested in the first ten days of September; Nocera was harvested in the second half of August.

Tasting notes

A new rose wine, the perfect ambassador for two "Made in Italy" icons. Dolce&Gabbana and Donnafugata strengthen their partnership with the launch of Rosa. Bright pale pink in color, with an elegant bouquet of jasmine, delicate fruity notes of wild strawberry, peach and bergamot. It has a very pleasant fragrance, minerality and persistence. Perfect for aperitifs, raw fish, vegetarian dishes and delicate meats.

Vinification

Made from a blend of Nerello Mascalese & Nocera. The vineyards are located in Eastern Sicily, on the north side of the Etna Contessa Entellina Estate. Manually harvested into crates with selection of only the best bunches per plant. Cold maceration in press for 6-12 hours at 10C (50F) followed by fermentation in stainless steel, at a controlled temperature. Aged in tanks for two months and another three months in bottle before release.
