Reviews
James Suckling 91
A reductive style with strawberry and raspberry fruit. Crisp acidity with a lean body, large bubbles and a toasty, leesy, slightly floral finish.
by JS, James Suckling , 2024
Wine Enthusiast 90
Aromas of wild strawberry, orange rind, red apple skin, brioche and wildflowers pour from the glass. The fine and delicate palate showcases the high-toned red berries, subtle hints of herbs and a creamy mousse on the finish.

Wine Advocate 91
A blend of 65% Chardonnay and 35% Pinot Nero, the NV Franciacorta Brut Rose was tasted from magnum (and represents a production of 160,000 bottles). You get lightly toasted tones with praline and almond cookie over softer tones of orchard fruit and pink grapefruit. The wine is lean, easy and fresh with medium intensity in terms of its beading.

Technical Details
Estate
Contadi Castaldi is one of the leading sparkling wine producers in Franciacorta, a region in the province of Brescia, Lombardy blessed with fertile soils, formerly used as brick and concrete quarries. Founded by the Moretti family, focusing on intensive research, innovation and a dynamic attitude which greatly differentiated Contadi Castaldi from any other winery in Franciacorta. The winery’s name refers to the ancient history of the area where the “Contadi” were small counties known for their outstanding agricultural products, and the “Castaldi” were the lords who governed those lands.
Soil
Stony soil, moderately calcareous.
Tasting Notes
It has a beautiful coral pink color, very bright, with a fine and persistent perlage. An
original Franciacorta, in a modern style, making skillful use of the pinot nero
grapes. The nose has clear notes of wild berries, fresh rose petals, hints of apple
and tropical fruit. The mouth is structured, crisp and lively, tangy and sensually
upbeat. The finish is long and well balanced.
