Sassarini - Cian du Corsu - Cinque Terre 2016
Tasting notes
After a meticulous selection of the grapes, we softly press them. A brief and strictly controlled fermentation, constant battonage and a light ageing in steel barrels gives us a wine with a persistent fruit and white mediterranean flower bouquet, enriched by typical mineral and salty notes.

History
In 1968, Natale Sassarini decided to produce and market the wines of Cinque Terre for inns and hotels in the Province of La Spezia, establishing Cantina Sassarini – a 50-acre estate located in the village of Monterosso al Mare. This village is one of the five villages of Cinque Terre, hence its name meaning “Five Lands” – a coastal region which contains steep mountains, covered by bands of vineyards, that slope down towards the sea. The wines were sold at what many considered to be an expensive price, but was justified by their authenticity and the fact that to cultivate every 2.5 acres of vines on these dangerous slopes takes about 3,000 working days. In just a few short years, Cantina Sassarini became one of the largest and most-important private winery in the area.
