Technical Details
Description
The vineyards producing this cuvée are located to the north of Orange. Small yields and also clay-limestone subsoil bring elegance and finesse to this wine and the Grenache brings its fruit aromas and roundness. Produced from wines with and average age of 35 years old.
Estate
The Brunel family’s winemaking history reaches back to the 17th century with the purchase of a vineyard plot to the north of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation from the Bishop of Avignon. Numerous generations followed, all working in the vineyards, but it was in 1954 that Lucien Brunel created the name "Les Cailloux" or "The Pebbles" to promote the Domaine’s wine qualities and special geological characteristic of the large oval stones covering his vineyards.
Tasting notes
The Grenache expresses all its qualities through this wine: exuberance of red fruit, roundness of tannins. The 2017 vintage, with exceptional climate conditions, allowed the Grenache to fully express itself. This cuvée Grenache is the perfect wine as an aperitive between friends or paired with meals, too! Pair with red meats and charcuterie.
