Rich, soft, juicy and velvety. Remarkably high acidity for the vintage. Bold tannins, more structured than most Cote-Roties in 2022, showing good concentration and ripeness. A blend of lieux-dits Cote Blonde and Cote Brune, fermented separately then combined.

I loved the 2022 Cote Rotie La Mordoree, which comes from the Cote Blonde and Cote Brune lieux-dits and was 75% destemmed and is still resting in 30% new oak. Classy cassis and black raspberries fruit, liquid flowers, crushed stone, and some peppery, meaty nuances define the aromatics and it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a pure, elegant, focused mouthfeel, and ultra-fine tannins. It's not massive yet shines for its incredible balance and complexity. It's a beautiful wine in the making.
