Tasting notes
Color: Ruby color with violet sheen.
Nose: Marked by its terroir character of spices, black pepper, lavender, black cherries and blackberries.
Palate: Elegant and well-balanced, full-bodied, powerful with persistent aromas of red fruit and garrigue. This wine is very drinkable now but will continue to develop and age nicely.

Vineyard
The Domaine is Barville is a 15ha vineyard west of the village. It consists of seven parcels covering two of the oldest and best terroirs of the AOC (red clay and pebbles at a place called "Pradel" and broken limestone at "Beaurenard"). At an altitude of 100 meters, the vines with an average age of 35 years overlook the Rhone valley. The famous Mistral wind and the good exposure are critical the the maturity of the berries.
Vinification
Manual harvesting and the rapid transport of the grapes in small containers to the winery to avoid compaction and oxidation of the grape are key. The grapes are then destemmed, crushed and fermented at 28 °C followed by maceration for 3 weeks. Ageing of 12 months then takes place in French oak barrels (1/3 new oak, 1/3 1yr old, 1/3 2yr old).
