”Les Coères” is the largest 1. Cru area in Montagny, covering 31,7 ha. Four of the plots we are farming follow each other and are located between 220 and 300m above sea level.
Terroir
Stony clay-limestone soil.
Harvest
Harvested by hand.
Vinification
Grapes are pressed and the juice filled into stainless steel tanks for settling. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations take place in stainless steel tank. 10% of the juice matures in French oak barrels, whilst the rest will mature in tank in order to highlight the minerality and the fruity notes of that wine.
Ageing
Aged 9 months, about 10% in barrels of 300 L, light toasting and 90% in stainless steel tanks. Ageing potential: 5 years.
Tasting Notes
Intense nose of fresh green fruist – apple, pear – and white flowers. Mineral with a refreshing acidity.
Food Pairing
Light dishes in general. Asparagus, goat cheese and shellfish. Serve between 10-11° C.
