Domaine Roux - Meursault 2017
Tasting notes
The best soils in Meursault are found at heights between 260 and 270 meters, which is where these vineyards for Domaine Roux are found. Varying exposures of east and south with marly-limestone and magnesium limestone soils are found in these vineyards. Canary yellow in color, this Meursault has a bouquet of toasted almonds along with butter, honey, and citrus fruits. On the palate it is rich with a cheerful and appealing taste of hazelnut. Its aromatic power and exceptional balance pair well with crawfish, prawns, and various blue cheeses.
Estate
Founded in 1885, Domaine Roux is currently operated by the 4th and 5th generation of the Roux family. With vineyard holdings throughout the Côte d'Or, the Domaine is situated in the Saint Aubin village of the Côte de Beaune. This historic property maintains one of the most incredible libraries of older vintages. No one in Burgundy has such an impressive collection of verticals from such a diverse array of villages, single vineyards and Premier Cru wines.
