For four generations, the domaine of Bachelet-Ramonet has been located in the heart of the Côte d'Or, south of the Côte de Beaune, in the town of Chassagne-Montrachet. This famous village is one of five villages considered to be the 'Côte des Blancs', a strip of land considered to be the best place on earth for white wine, with an international reputation for excellence.
Description
Ideally situated at the foot of the hill of Chassagne-Montrachet this wine is hand harvested and aged in French oak for 15-17 months. The wines produced at the domain are all made and bottled at the property.
Ruby color which unveils cassis and undergrowth aromas. The mouth is round and very elegant with its silky tannins.
Chassagne-Montrachet and its neighbor Puligny-Montrachet are well-known for their Grand Crus, the most famous being the Montrachet. However, apart from these white Grand Crus, Chassagne-Montrachet also produces outstanding red wines. These wines have good body and their structure is reminiscent of the reds from the Côte de Nuits.
Tasting notes
This delicous Chassagne-Montrachet rouge has a ruby color which unveils cassis and undergrowth aromas. The mouth is round and very elegant with its silky tannins. This is a fruity, full-bodied wine with good fullness and a well-developed final structure, giving it good aging potential.
Pairs well with grilled and roasted poultry and red meats and meat in cream sauces.
