Description
This wine is in honor of the Duke Philippe Le Hardi. The most important person in Burgundy Viticulture. Chateau de Santenay was once the residence of the Duke of Burgundy Philippe Le Hardi (Philippe the Bold) (1342-1404) who was the first and foremost ambassador of Burgundy and its great wines.
Château de Santenay is one of the largest wine estates in Burgundy. This prestigious heritage, made up of a remarkable Château with its glazed tile roof and 98-hectare vineyard, is the result of a centuries-old heritage intimately linked to the history of Burgundy winemaking.
Tasting notes
Bright and luminous with white gold reflections. Its nose is powerful with a fresh touch of white flowers, citrus fruit and a delicate oak note. The mouth is very fresh, lively and with perfectly balanced acidity and a subtle aromatic density. The balance is perfect with an aftertaste of delicious fresh fruits and hazelnuts. A superb wine with character, it is elegant, mineral, taut and expressive.
Vinification
Traditional. Moderate pneumatic pressing. Static settlings for 12 hours then fermented in oak barrels
(50%) and tanks.
