Estate

The exquisite charm of a perfectly balanced Saint-Julien. A well-known property of the prestigious Saint-Julien appellation on the Left Bank of the Bordeaux region, Château Lalande-Borie is known by wine lovers for its exquisite wines, which display all of the typical characteristics of their appellation.

Vineyard

The vineyard is managed traditionally (Medoc, double Guyot pruning), while including the latest viticultural techniques including: leaf-thinning my hand, green harvests in summer, partial cover crop, control yields and application of sustainable phytosanitary treatments.

All the grapes are harvested manually. Sorting is carried out directly in the vines on mobile tables to avoid contact between unhealthy and healthy grapes during transport to the vat room.

Vinification

Alcoholic fermentation takes place at relatively low temperatures (between 26-28°C) to optimize the fruity aromas of the wine. Pumping-over is gentle to avoid extracting too many tannins and obtain a pleasant fattiness. Malolatic fermentation of the free run wine and the press-wine (pneumatic pressing takes place in vats for optimal control. The wine is placed in French oak barrels immediately after blending, with 20-30% new barrels used according to the vintage. Bottling is performed with special care in regard to both oenological controls and homogenization of the overall wine.

Tasting notes

With its dark garnet color, the Château Lalande-Borie reveals a fruity nose, with aromas of plums, combined with beautifully integrated woody notes. The attractive palate shows off an ample and beautiful structure, before a finish of sublime length. A subtle and classy wine.
