Reviews
James Suckling 91
The forthright cassis note is immediately appealing, then the rather bold tannic structure sneaks up on you and shows that this is a serious wine. Maybe not quite the power and length of the appellation's top wines in 2014, but still an impressive wine.

Wine Spectator 90
Ripe and racy, with a graphite streak that drives the core of cassis and plum fruit along, picking up an anise edge on the finish. Not big, but fresh and well-defined. Shows some sneaky grip.

Wine Advocate 88-90
The Château Grand Puy Ducasse 2014 has a clean and pure bouquet: cedar and tobacco marrying nicely with the black fruit, though it needs a little more thrust. The palate is medium-bodied with a supple, fleshy, coconut-tinged entry. The oak needs to be better integrated with the fruit: it's seductive at the moment but it needs to translate that into substance in bottle.

Technical Details
History
The vineyard of this Grand Cru Classe consists of three large parcels located on the best terroirs in Pauillac.
This unusual configuration was created by its founder, Pierre Ducasse, a distinguished lawyer who, through a
series of purchases and inheritances, was able to assemble this splendid eighteenth vineyard under one name.
Thanks to a meticulous harvesting and specially adapted maturing for each batch, the Cabernet-Sauvignon and Merlot
offer wines that are known for their aromatic complexity, typical of the best Pauillac, their beautiful structure
and capacity to age.
Tasting notes
This wine has an intense, deep colour and very concentrated fruit accompanied by notes of spices. The elegant
palate offers distinguished, silky tannins. The sleek, powerful finish suggests a good capacity to age.
Vinification
After manual harvesting in crates and an initial sorting in the vineyard, the grapes were sorted again using the
latest generation optical sorting system. Vinification was carried out in stainless steel temperature controlled
tanks. For some of the batches, malolactic fermentation was carried out in new barrels. All of the first wine is
matured in French oak barrels, 30% of which were renewed this vintage.
