Reviews

James Suckling 92

A pretty nose of blueberries, strawberries, plums, dried herbs, chocolate and allspice. Medium-to full-bodied with fine, ripe tannins and fresh acidity. Layered and velvety. Second wine of du Tertre. A blend of 45% merlot, 38% cabernet sauvignon, 12% cabernet franc and 5% petit verdot.

Vinous Media 90-92

The 2019 Les Hauts du Tertre is an alluring second wine. Deep on the palate, with striking depth and complexity, Les Hauts is absolutely delicious. The aromatics are especially present and give quite a bit of lift to the red berry fruit. This is one of the best editions I can remember tasting of Les Hauts du Tertre.

Background

Second wine of the Grand Cru Classe Chateau du Tertre, Les Hauts du Tertre follows the same spirit as the Grand Vin with whom it shares the terroir.
Viticulture and winemaking are done with the same level of precision, nevertheless Les Hauts du Tertre is focused on a more shining, fruity and electric style.

Tasting notes

The essence of Les Hauts du Tertre 2019 is mainly carried by the Merlot that in this vintage expressed at the same time roundness and freshness.
The palate offers a wonderful acidity that gives lift, energy and long finish mainly carried by the Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
The Petit Verdot brings a hint of spice in the nose and a complementary dimension of density to the mid-palate.
The result is a real "vin de plaisir" based on roundness and drinkability that will please the palate of every type of consumer.
