Reviews
James Suckling 92
Very attractive, bright cassis and blackberries with attractive spice and undergrowth complexity. The palate has a sleek, neatly aligned feel with long and succulent tannins that deliver fresh, purple-fruit flavor. This has a fresh, focused finish. Drink or hold

Vinous Media 90
The 2016 Ducluzeau exceeds my expectations from barrel. It has a clean, precise bouquet of blackberry and bilberry fruit, and a light estuarine scent emerges with time. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy black fruit tinged with tobacco and sea salt, and just a tang of black olive toward the vivid finish. Classic Bordeaux, no more, no less.

Description
The origins of Château Ducluzeau go back to the end of the XVIIth century. The Château was owned by Mr Ducluzeau. Today, this is Mr Bruno-Eugène Borie that manages the estate. Château Ducluzeau was listed in the 1932 Crus Bourgeois classification of the Médoc, just after the fifth classified growths and has kept the rank of cru bourgeois in the up-dated version of 2003. Château Ducluzeau is often considered as a feminine wine, even if the Listrac are usually of a robust structure. This is mainly due to the balance of grape varieties used, mainly Merlot, particularly suited for the terroir and to the great experience of wine making by the Borie family over many years at the head of some of the most famous wines of Medoc. We often associate it with the femininity. To put it simply, Ducluzeau generates its elegance through its grape varieties, its traditional viticultural techniques and its modern vinification methods.
Tasting notes
Château Ducluzeau offers a wine with a strong aromatic power. Flattering and greedy, its bouquet delivers aromas of ripe red fruit with hints of chocolate, toasted and vanilla. Powerful, the palate reveals a fleshy wine supported by tight tannins that will ensure a high guard.
