The 2020 La Cabanne is soft, fruity and very easy to like. A burst of dark red/purplish fruit, lavender, spice, rose petal and mint gives La Cabanne its charming, sensual personality. Soft, silky tannins wrap it all together. This pliant, succulent Saint-Emilion is all charm.

A blend of 96% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc, the 2020 La Cabanne has a deep purple-black color and notes of ripe, juicy black plums, fresh blackberries and black cherry compote, plus hints of star anise, clove oil and sandalwood with a touch of lavender. The medium to full-bodied palate is chock-full of rich, ripe black fruits, supported by velvety tannins and oodles of freshness, finishing long with a spicy kick.

This wine, almost pure Merlot, has the opulence to be expected from the grape. The fruit is so dense that the tannins are buried but are certainly there and will allow this juicy, black fruit flavored wine to age gracefully.
